Family Tree Research

We create Family Trees or Pedigree Charts which are tailor made for you, using our own  design procedure to create an attractive and detailed summary of your ancestry.  In most cases, we provide one of these genealogical charts with all our Research Programme's of your ancestry, bringing together the information provided at the initial investigation stages. We can also provide detailed reports which covers all your family tree information, including information from the following sources:

English and Welsh Ancestry

  • Civil registration records (birth, marriages and deaths), from 1837
  • Census returns (1841-1911)
  • Original parish registers and nonconformist registers
  • Military records
  • Professional records
  • Manorial records
  • Poor Law documents
  • Local newspapers
  • Heraldic visitations and other early published pedigrees

Scottish Ancestry

  • Civil registration records (births, marriages and deaths), from 1855
  • Census returns (1841-1901)
  • Parish registers
  • Land records

Irish Ancestry

Many records were destroyed by fire in 1922 and others were not preserved. Though more Northern Irish Census information is available. For any Irish research we recommend that you send full known details for a free assessment before commissioning work.

  • Civil registration records (births, marriages and deaths), from 1864 (Protestant marriages from 1845)
  • 1901 and 1911 census returns (most earlier returns were destroyed)
  • Church registers
  • NI 1831 and 1851 Census
  • Land records: Griffith’s Valuation, Tithe Employment Books, Deeds

When we have traced your ancestry back as far as we can, or as far as you wish, we can create from this a Family Biography: a detailed, illustrated history of your family from the earliest known generation up to the present.  Cost are given on an individual basis.
